Staff Accountant

  • Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations for entry level to moderately complex accounting matters such as cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and expense accruals
  • Researches and corrects account discrepancies
  • Project reporting, grant reporting, custom reporting
  • Cost accounting and reporting in a manufacturing environment
  • Sales and Use Tax Reporting
  • Assists with fixed asset inventories
  • Assists with periodic reporting and analysis for various departments
  • Track and report specific costs in excel workbooks
  • Assist with cross functional management of inventory
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Other tasks as required


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or business discipline with major/concentration in accounting
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Dynamics Great Plains or similar ERP system experience required
  • Cost Accounting experience required
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook

Bonus Points:

  • Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process. Responsible for ensuring completeness and accuracy of operational data.  Performing detailed work in an office setting will constitute the majority of your time

  • Responsibilities include account reconciliations, reporting grant activities and project costs, preparing and entering journal entries, maintenance of tracking spreadsheets, accuracy of inventory and cycle counts, and assisting with special projects

  • Highly detail oriented with strong communication skills and good decision-making abilities. The Staff Accountant will have a positive attitude and optimistic outlook
