Research Associate I

Responsibilities:

  • Perform established analyses for raw materials and product release according to SOPs and GLP/GMP guidelines

  • Perform established assays on biological and engineered tissues

  • Perform biochemical assays (ELISAs and related immunoassays).

  • Perform cell-based assays depending on prior experience.

  • Maintain laboratory notebooks, prepare and review written protocols, reports and SOPs and present results

  • Work with others in the organization to develop, qualify & validate analytical methods (such as determining purity, impurity, composition, and the mechanical properties of biologic and engineered tissues)

  • Work with others in a team environment to troubleshoot analytical methods and ensure that methods perform robustly in QC and R&D labs

  • Interface with appropriate internal experts to interpret analytical findings

Requirements:

  • BA/BSc required (or MS) in biochemistry, chemistry, or related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

  • Industrial experience in bio/pharmaceutical method execution

  • Experience implementing analytical methods in a GLP/GMP environment

  • Experience with ELISA immunoassays and biological sample handling/preparation

  • Experience working in a Quality Control Laboratory

  • Proficient in aseptic technique

  • Tissue culture experience

  • Strong background in bioanalytic methods (such as ELISAs, Immunoblotting, electrophoresis of DNA and Proteins, etc.)

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and scientifically driven

  • Demonstrated track record of meeting established deadlines

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with drafting SOPs, validation protocols/reports, and technical reports

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cross functional team

  • Experience with cell culture desired, but not necessary
