Master Planner

The Planner is responsible for converting the demand forecast(s) into a production schedule to determine appropriate inventory levels required to meet business needs. Maintain overall Planning Systems for accuracy and coordinate plans with Product Development and production areas. Responsible for leading the information and communication of the production plan. This role will lead the planning process.

  • Develops site demand plan in monthly buckets 4-18 months, plus weekly buckets 1-12 weeks that balances resources and requirements for commercial demand
  • Provides input to build the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meeting
  • Executes controlled and approved changes for supply chain planning parameters e.g., rate or capacity changes for Rough Cut Capacity Planning
  • Evaluate demand planning performance and trends; investigates the root cause of issues of KPIs deviations and recommends actions to prevent recurrence
  • Evaluate periodic static data extraction and validation for integrity and consistency; ensures data updated in relevant supply chain systems; provides KPI measures around data integrity and accuracy
  • Approves SOP’s and provide training as required
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned manufacturing orders
  • Expedites operations that would delay schedules and alters schedules flexible to unforeseen conditions
  • Prepares production reports
  • Prepare manufacturing orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment
  • Development of Great Plains Enterprise Resource Planning System  (Microsoft Dynamics) process and SOPs
  • Supplier Collaboration
  • Translation of the production plan into a item level demand plan
  • Communication of variances to the plan internally and externally


  • BA or BS in Business, Materials Management, or related field
  • APICS Certification preferred
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Pharma or technology focused production planning
  • Supervisory experience a plus
