Commercial Lines Assistant Account Executive

Reporting to a executive, underwriter at an advanced level of position/difficulty, working independently. Primary responsibilities include independent decision-making and discretion in regards to the underwriting function, while determining acceptability of business and integrity of underwriting practices.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Send renewal letters
  • Quote binding authority renewals and market brokerage renewals with the intent to secure the best terms available for the insured and agent
  • Review agent bind requests for renewals and process accordingly
  • Set up file. This includes ensuring file has all required underwriting information and setting tasks to follow up when necessary
  • Assist AE’s in quoting new business when needed
  • Process contract policies and contract endorsements
  • Check inspections, send recommendation and discrepancy letters to agent
  • Check Brokerage Policies
  • Help train new employees as needed
  • Secondary phone operator
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Safety and security—the individual observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.


  • 4 year degree preferred 
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • 1 – 3 years experience in a similar position
