Medical Data Entry Assistant/Receptionist

Billing | Charlotte, NC 28204 | Full Time

Job Description

Local medical practice is searching for a Data Entry Assistant/Receptionist for their billing office near downtown Charlotte.  You would be responsible for assisting the billing specialist with the keying of charges into the billing software system and also serving as the front desk receptionist.


  • Accurately and efficiently enter data into the billing software system
  • Transmit claims and post patient payments.
  • Answer multi-line telephone system and greet visitors in a friendly manner
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence
  • Print and mail correspondence to patients and insurance carriers
  • Assist with miscellaneous clerical duties, such as scanning, filing, and ordering supplies


  • Minimum 1-2 years' billing/collection experience in a medical office setting
  • Prior data entry experience
  • Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices
  • Multi-line phone experience in a pleasant and helpful manner
  • Fast typing skills, with a high accuracy rate and great attention to detail
