About the Job:

The Purchasing Manager - Retail will work directly with Retail Market Director(s) and General Manager(s) of dispensaries to source products for sale in our retail locations, serving as the main point of contact with vendors. The Purchasing Manager - Retail will also assist with in-store events as necessary, and maintain a current knowledge of trending products in their region, and in the cannabis industry in general. 

  • Manage sourcing and procurement of third-party and in-house products for retail locations in accordance with company policies and budgetary restrictions  

  • Negotiate competitive pricing and vendor-supported promotions  

  • Work closely with Retail Market Director(s) to establish competitive pricing for retail locations  

  • Track and analyze market trends  

  • Perform vendor, brand, and product analyses  

  • Be informed on new product drops and trends in the cannabis industry 

  • Assists with scheduling vendor pop-ups 

  • Assist with returns of defective third-party product for credit  

  • Have a clear understanding of local labeling and packaging regulations and requirements  

  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, delivery times, and vendor relations  

  • Source training and display material from vendors to provide to the training and visual merchandising teams 

  • Assist with purchasing non-cannabis items, such as accessories, as needed 

  • All other duties as assigned

  • Physical Requirements of the Job: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, walking, standing, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions, lifting up to 25 pounds without assistance, and lifting up to 75 pounds with assistance. May include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over, and/or crouching. Ability to tolerate moderate to loud exposure to noise level. Exposure to artificial lights. Long periods of prolonged use of office equipment including computers and phones. 

About You:  


  • Due to state regulations, qualified candidates for this position must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a background check – certain criminal convictions may disqualify candidates based on state marijuana licensing regulations.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or related fields, preferred 

  • 4+ years of purchasing experience  

  • Experience sourcing and negotiating product pricing 

  • Proven ability to effectively manage communication between teams  

  • Solid understanding of retail store economics, and the ability to interpret and act on store sales data 

  • Experience in the cannabis industry  

Technological Skills:  

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 

  • Inventory software and online retail ordering
