About the Job:

The Kitchen Manager will oversee manufacturing and formulations for all marijuana infused products. 

  • Hiring, supervising and directing of kitchen staff

  • Plans and assigns production to kitchen staff

  • Orders supplies and keeps an accurate inventory of all raw materials 

  • Work with 3rd party testing labs to manage timeliness and accuracy of testing results  

  • Trains and directs kitchen staff and general labor 

  • Ensures adherence to SOP's for production, health, sanitation, safety and compliance 

  • Oversees quality control and troubleshooting of finished product 

  • Maintains production logs, lab test results and proper receiving/storage of product 

  • Demonstrates an understanding of state and county health department requirements for production facilities. 

  • Internally prepares for periodic inspections 

  • Works with other department leads to coordinate special needs, works with inventory manager to plan and forecast needs 

  • Keeps facility GMP standards for all kitchen processes 

  • Communicates respectfully with all staff including leadership 

  • Accountable and responsible for crafting quality products to existing SOPs through our licensed facility 

  • Understand and executes potency batch calculations and ensure proper incorporation of extracts into products with precise, accurate and repeatable results  

  • Create and maintain all product specification documents, recipes, and formulas

  • Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising safety or product integrity

  • Work with National Laboratory Manager and Chief Scientific Officer to maintain efficient and compliant operation with deliverables including weekly reports and presentations.

  • Audit inventory regularly to ensure full compliance

  • Be part of the team that evaluates and integrates new equipment for production scaling

  • Build an engaged team through motivation, transparency, support and guidance

  • Ensure staff understand and conform to all company, employment and regulatory policies, rules and procedures, by clearly communicating and enforcing in a consistent and non-discriminatory manner

  • Day to day management of production area and team including: staffing and capacity planning

  • Provide planning and forecasting documentation to help determine necessary resources

  • Ability to work a varying schedule including nights, weekends, and overtime as necessary

  • Physical Requirements of the Job: VERY LABOR INTENSIVE. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 75 pounds (125 pounds with assistance), may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching. Moderate to loud exposure to noise level. 

About You:  


  • Due to state regulations, qualified candidates for this position must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check – certain criminal convictions may disqualify candidates based on state medical marijuana licensing regulations.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field 

  • Experience infusing foods and other products required, working with cannabis oil infusion preferred 

  • Experience with the emulsification of food products 

  • Food manufacturing or food chemistry experience or training 

  • 5+ years experience commercial food production from bench to scale up 

  • 3+ years experience creating candies, chocolates, cookies, brownies, etc 

  • 3+ years management experience within commercial kitchen or food production environment 

  • ServSafe Certification  

Technological Skills:  

  • Ability to use standard office equipment  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

Required Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Familiarity with Federal and State Marijuana Regulations, Medical Regulations, Health Regulations and Sanitation Regulations 

  • Understanding and adherence of FDA regulations 

  • Understanding and adherence of OSHA guidelines for workplace safety and hazardous chemicals 

  • Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety 

  • Excellent project management skills. 

  • Detail orientated with an eye on process improvement and optimization 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage high-stress situations, and to be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires 

  • Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills both verbally and in writing 

  • Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group 

  • Strong work ethic and sound judgment 

  • Must be able to successfully pass a thorough internal and external background check
