About the Job:
The Instructional Designer is an integral part of Holistic Industries Operations team. In this position, you design, deliver and curate learning experiences for team members globally. You collaborate with team members, the Executive Leadership team, and other business unit stakeholders across the organization to consult on and deliver exceptional learning experiences. This role requires a high degree of independent problem solving, stakeholder management, excellent communication skills and a client-first approach.
Design and develop learning experiences across a variety of platforms and modalities including, but not limited to virtual facilitated learning, eLearning, micro-learning, and social/collaborative learning that meets internal client needs while applying proven learning methodologies and frameworks for effective adult learning
Assist in the instructional design and development of the global Sales learning and development program
Write and edit content for learning materials including, but not limited to, playbooks, PPT slide presentations, job aids, workbooks, virtual classroom facilitator guides, videos, and interactive eLearning modules
Consult with enterprise business functions and learning leaders on best-practice instructional design solutions
Oversee vendor produced content for instructional design integrity and assist in developing standard training offerings that promote a learning culture through self-directed learning
Participate in learning interventions and discovery calls, and assist in identifying learning goals and writing learning objectives
Build productive relationships and collaborate effectively with subject matter experts throughout the organization
Prioritize and manage projects to completion and meet desired milestones
Participate in the ongoing review of programs within the learning portfolio and ensure that experiences are updated as needed
As an expert in instructional design and development, serve as a mentor to other members of your team, other teams across the organization and business partners who produce their own learning content
Design and development of live training delivery materials may also fall under the umbrella of activities/expectations
Contribute to project status reports within the department, with other department representatives, and with higher organizational levels; provide formal status reporting on a periodic basis to management staff as requested.

Physical Requirements of the Job: LIGHT OFFICE LIFTING. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 25 pounds (up to about 50 pounds with assistance), may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching. Ability to tolerate moderate to loud exposure to noise level. Exposure to long periods of bright lights. Long periods of prolonged use of office equipment including computers and phones.
Regulations require that incumbent be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain state marijuana work credentials
Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, technical writing, or other learning related discipline
Design and development of asynchronous online courses
Basic instructional design experience / WBT (Web Based Training) development
Graphic design and storyboarding concepts
Audio and video editing and production experience
Web-based authoring tool experience
Prior experience in the cannabis industry highly desirable
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience and expertise with appropriate instructional design software packages and online systems as well as video editing and sound editing tools necessary for instructional design work
Ability to quickly learn and use other software systems such as travel tools, note taking tools, reporting systems, expense reporting applications, issue ticketing management systems, etc.
