About the Job:

The General Manager will function as the supervisor for all technical, non-technical and compliance functions in the dispensary. The General Manager provides effective leadership to ensure the customer experience exceeds expectations every day. The GM works with the executive team to develop sales strategies and successful execution. In this multi-faceted role, the General Manager serves as brand ambassador, patient advocate, staff mentor and supervisor.

  • Lead by example through being the ultimate illustration of service, dedication, pace, and energy

  • Consistently deliver the ultimate patient/customer experience in all facets from patient or customer entry to exit

  • Accountable for P & L performance and achieving financial goals

  • Responsible for driving and communicating goals to the retail staff

  • Ensure store activities and staff are in compliance with the state guidelines

  • Facilitate all store inspections

  • Maintain all confidential information according to HIPAA policies and procedures, as well as PII

  • Communicate product quality control in a timely manner, pulling all products that do not meet quality standards

  • Oversee inventory management to ensure inventory is consistently accurate, up to date, effectively ordered and replenished, and that there is no loss or theft

  • Oversee staff training according to the company training programs

  • Awareness and accountability for customer reviews on all social platforms and in store customer satisfaction

  • Responsible for coaching conversations, performance management, and professional development of all staff, including store leadership

  • Responsible for ensuring that the physical environment is safe, sanitary and that all equipment is in good working order, and that all preventative maintenance is performed in a timely manner

  • Oversee on-line ordering program and delivery operations, as well as related staff

  • Partner with Market Director to make data driven decisions on product assortment and place approved orders as necessary

  • Assist with the creation of product masters and discounts

  • Oversee store opening and closing activities

  • Oversee cash handling and maintain organized financial logs required by State regulation and or company policy and procedure

  • Work with Merchandising Manager to implement and maintain all store visual merchandising

  • Ensure online menus are accurate

  • Schedule staff according to sales and volume

  • Ensure all SOP’s are implemented and followed

  • Drive the adoption of Liberty Wallet & Liberty Rewards program to meet company goals (if applicable in market)

  • Partner with LCC to find opportunities for community outreach and educational programming

  • Oversight of all disciplinary issues/corrective action within the retail location

  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and staffing of retail location

  • Supervise all Manager on Duty (MOD) functions and performs those duties as needed

  • Ensure delivery of pre-shift meetings to all staff at opening and throughout the day

  • Partner with the Market Director to provide customer feedback, information on slow movers, requests etc.

About You:


  • Regulations require that incumbent be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain state marijuana work credentials.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or related fields preferred

  • 5+ years of retail management

  • Experience in complex, fast-paced store environments

  • Proven ability to manage teams effectively

  • Solid understanding of store economics and ability to interpret and act on store KPI data

  • Experience in the cannabis industry is highly desirable

Technological Skills:

  • POS expertise

  • Inventory software and online retail ordering

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
