About the Job: 

The purpose of the Director of Maintenance is to assist with the maintenance and upkeeping for Holistic facilities in terms of cultivation, HVAC, lighting, plumbing and electrical.  Will work with each facility on budget, training, goals and performance of equipment and building needs.

  • National budget control and oversight in partnership with Facility leaders 

  • National goal setting for maintenance teams at all facilities 

  • Work with facility maintenance managers to plan and develop facility specific strategies, which will include:

    • Equipment downtime planning

    • Staffing requirements

    • Skill needs

    • Maintenance scheduling

    • Approve additional equipment requests

    • Establish reporting tools and tracking to ensure workloads are being completed accurately and timely

    • Facility specific planning and goal setting 

  • Develop nationwide training programs to enhance maintenance skill sets 

  • Establish list of vendors, nationally, for facilities to utilize for local needs.  This will include:

    • Identification

    • Negotiation of rates (if national vendors)

    • Establishing cost projection thresholds and approval processes 

  • Establish and maintain emergency protocol and will be organizational point person, as needed 

  • Tour and review facilities and make recommendations for improvements on efficiency, effectiveness, staffing, training 

  • Identify key part inventories and support MRO stock management with Maintenance Team 

  • Asset identification and management for all facilities

  • Other duties as assigned, or any reasonable request from any member of management  

  • Physical Requirements of the Job: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, lifting, walking, standing, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. May include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching. Ability to tolerate moderate to loud exposure to noise level. Exposure to long periods of bright lights. Long periods of prolonged use of office equipment including computers and phones. 

About You:  


  • Regulations require that incumbent be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain state marijuana work credentials.


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, maintenance, or related field preferred 

  • 7+ years of experience in a multi-site maintenance leadership position, mechanical engineering or similar positions 

  • 5+ years of leadership experience 

  • Previous commercial cannabis experience preferred 

  • Proficient knowledge in environment, health and safety standards in agricultural operations 

Technological Skills 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint 

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills  

  • Experience with Argus, Priva or similar indoor farming control systems 

  • Experience with HVAC, boilers, chillers, electrical, etc.

  • Professional demeanor, strong work ethic  

  • Able to maintain confidentiality 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
