Data Analytics Intern – Turn Data Into Insights and Actions

HNI is seeking a data analytics guru that is looking to test their quantitative skills by turning big data into actionable insights. If you’re a college student passionate about data analysis and uncovering insights, then read on my friend!

What you’ll be doing:

So, what will you tackle in this internship? You will assist and support our Business Analyst with a variety of activities related to data discovery, analytics, and data visualization so that people can better understand what’s happening.

We will consider it a successful summer if you helped us:

  • Combine data from multiple sources into one killer database

  • Clean, process and re-format data for analysis

  • Design and build analytic dashboards that allow our clients to analyze what’s happening with their insurance

  • Tell our clients’ stories through data by uncovering deep analytical insights to drive high-impact action items or results

  • Continue to maintain and update loss data

Our team is made up of high performers who like to work hard and have fun! Bonus points if you have experience in ping pong, as your new team currently reigns as office champions. There is a deep seeded rivalry in-house, so bring your competitive spirit!

What you’ll become:

You’ll gain real-world experience and become a storyteller by turning data into insights and actions. We will send you back to fall semester with more knowledge of data management practices and the insurance industry than you thought possible. You’ll also learn how to use one of the most popular data visualization tools: PowerBI. We guarantee your professors will be impressed.

Who we’re looking for [desired skills and experience]:

Whatever it takes to accomplish the above, but likely an undergrad heading into their junior or senior year with a major that involves heavy data analysis. Someone detail-oriented with laser focus and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Someone not afraid to take on new tools, ideas, or processes, who knows how to roll up their sleeves and make things happen. This is a full-time paid internship that will run for 8 weeks during the summer.
