Silo Service Technician

About Us: Hi-Crush is a leading domestic producer, supplier, and distributor of premium Northern White frac sand used to enhance recovery rates of oil and natural gas from hydraulic fracturing wells.


With close supervision, responsible for the operation, service and maintenance of mobile frac sand storage containers for customers to ensure performance and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.  

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Performs construction assembly of mobile silo containers

• Responds to customer calls and provides support to silo storage units

• Addresses the repair and servicing of field equipment components

• Troubleshoots and addresses necessary I & C installations, repair and service to units

• Sandblasts and paints containers

• Communicates with manager as to any operating malfunctions or irregularities.

• Serves as a certified Pilot/Escort for oversized/over dimensional loads



 Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

 Sufficient education to make appropriate arithmetic equations and complete written documentation and records; or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics. Must be able to read, use simple math, and use basic hand held measuring tools.


  • Must possess general mechanical knowledge
  • Possess general equipment maintenance/mechanical skills
  • Experience dealing with 3 phase high voltage as well as single phase high voltage and Low voltage DC a plus but not required
  • One year Oilfield experience dealing with Fracing services a plus
  • Must be able to read electrical Schematics for troubleshooting
  • General welding knowledge is a plus but not required
  • Industrial Maintenance experience a plus

 Computer Skills:

  Basic computer skills required, including MS Excel and Word.

 Certifications &

Valid state driver’s license with no serious violations within the previous five years.  Must possess a valid Class CDL (prefer Class A CDL, but not required)

Other Requirements:

 Must be able to communicate effectively, using both written and spoken forms of communication.  Must be a self-starter and be able to work without close supervision.   Must be willing to work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full time basis and be at least 18 years of age. Must have high safety standard for self and others. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate effectively with others.

Work in this position is performed in a plant, processing or transloading environment and subject to mandatory, regular medical screening as outlined in the company safety programs that is position related and consistent with business necessity.

Physical Demands:

 F (Frequently)

Position requires carrying, pushing, pulling 80 pounds of weight from 33% - 66% of the time (2.5 - 5.5+ hrs./day)

 Other Physical Requirements:

 Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, climb and move about the facility.

  1. Frequently lift 80 lbs. or more.
  2. Frequently climbs ladders and stairs.


Work Environment:

Work performed in a production and field yoservice environment. Exposure to inclement weather as most work will be performed outside.  Must be comfortable working at heights.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Safety glasses, hard hat and steel toe boots must be worn at all times.

 Auditory, respirator, and fall protection applicable when required.
