Business Development Manager

Job Description

About Us: Hi-Crush is a leading domestic producer, supplier, and distributor of premium Northern White frac sand used to enhance recovery rates of oil and natural gas from hydraulic fracturing wells.


Essential Functions Statement(s)

1. Target identification and qualification, new business development, customer strategic plan and 

proposal development, pricing strategies, contract negotiations and development, and sales support

2. Develop a profitable growth sales plan and strategy for the Southern Region based on stated 

strategic plan and goals, knowledge of the company’s assets and capabilities, and acquired customer 

and market knowledge and insights

3. Identify new sales opportunities within the assigned region, develop account specific 

strategies, and execute to capture market share and profitably, grow logistics products, services 

and solutions business

4. Market all aspects of Hi-Crush business units, with primary responsibility in Pronghorn Energy 

Services and OnCore Processing solutions; educate customers and grow brand recognition and 

profitable market share

5. Provide consistent communication of market and account knowledge with the rest of the sales 

organization, the operations and logistics teams, and the account management team and other groups 

as needed

6. Forecast monthly sales targets for the Southern region and reconcile variances between 

forecasted results to actual performance by conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis to 

provide valuable insight

7. Demonstrate strong skill set in providing customer solution sales: identifying customer 

potential pain points, share with operations/logistics teams, providing a solution to manage or 

eliminate that pain point, as well as continue to look for solutions for future issues that may 

arise for the customer

8.  Constantly analyze key operational metrics and runs quarterly business reviews with active 

clients


9. Work closely with sales team and operations teams to facilitate flow of communication to support 

customers and generate additional business opportunities for the organization

10. Solicits continuous feedback from customers and tracks operational performance as compared to 

contractual terms to ensure performance meets or exceeds customer expectations and standards

11. Visits with customers at the wellsite to maintain positive relationships and continuous support

12. Develops a deep understanding of the technical and business challenges that the customer faces 

and shares with the operations and sales teams


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS


SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

1.  Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience & Skills:

1.  Energy Industry experience required (3-5 years minimum)

2.  Oilfield Services/E&P field and sales experience required

3. Demonstrate strong skill set in providing customer solution sales: identifying customer 

potential pain points, share with operations/logistics teams, providing a solution to manage or 

eliminate that pain point, as well as continue to look for solutions for future issues that may 

arise for the customer

4.  Strong analytical skills and experience dealing with large data sets of information

5. Strong service company background preferred; particularly, last mile solutions delivering 

proppant to the wellsite is a plus

6.  Basic knowledge of sales/marketing techniques, and project management techniques

7. Excellent written/oral communication skills with ability to effectively present information and 

respond to questions

8.  Proven track record of handling customer relationships and tactical objectives

9. Ability to interact cross-functionally and at various levels, both within Hi-Crush and at 

customer organization

10. Strong internal communication and coordination skills

11. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel


12. Must be willing to travel extensively, including traveling to field locations regularly

This position will be based in the Permian basin or Houston, TX.
