Purpose of Position:
The Software Product Specialist serves as an expert on how products under their responsibly work and how they are used by their customers. Successful candidates will have a solid troubleshooting background and
the ability to work with a variety of groups from service and support teams to product development. This role requires the ability to work independently and handle sensitive customer interactions. Knowledge of Hexagon
mining systems as well as a variety of analysis tools is highly desired.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Serves as functional product expert.
- Serves as expert on how the product is used by the customer.
- Review’s enhancement request for duplication and alignment with product strategy.
- Delivery of product kit configurations and supporting artifacts.
- Provides usability requirements to product engineering.
- Ensures product functionality deliverables meet product requirements & specifications.
- Provides product training including functional, installation, and support training to sales, service, and support teams.
- Provides technical sales support.
Knowledge and Experience - Required:
- 3 years of field support in mining technology.
- Strong accountability planning/organization, and teamwork.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel to remote mining locations and from time to time participate in activities located in mining environments.
- Ability to work independently and yet be fully accountable.
- Strong sense of urgency & responsibility.
- Strong organizational skills and strong work ethics.
Knowledge and Experience - Desired:
- Minimum 4-year degree in a technical program preferably in computer science, information systems, mine engineering, engineering, or related field.
- Knowledge of React, C++, Objective C, Ruby, SQL Server Reporting Services and/or Linux.
- Distributed databases knowledge.
- Networking knowledge.
Travel:
- Up to 50% domestic and international travel required.
