Summary:

The Program Manager will be tasked with projects delivering successful autonomous mining software and hardware systems globally, with a short term focus in the Western Australia. The role will strive to deliver value to our customers by ensuring the project teams execute on time, to budget and within scope.

The role provides the opportunity to work directly with tier 1 and tier 2 mining corporates throughout the region in an exciting and dynamic industry. The role will be accountable for developing and improving our Project Management capability the global Autonomous Business Unit.

Purpose of Position:

  • Oversee the overall program of one critical project with oversight of other projects as assigned and ensuring resourcing and scheduling to meet expectations.
  • Work within projects to deploy Autonomous Mining systems at customer mine sites.
  • Focus on achieving customer outcomes with a high-level customer satisfaction throughout the process.
  • Plan, deliver and track projects using best practice methodologies to meet project milestones.
  • Proactively track project related software and hardware related risks.
  • Track project budget, manage scope creep and report progress to stakeholders, working with stakeholders to identify and propose variations and new work.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplined internal stakeholders and sub-contractors to ensure project deliverables are understood, deployed on time and meet requirements.
  • Define the roles and responsibilities of customers, external sub-contractors and internal project engineers.
  • Work with customers and internal stakeholders to prioritize, schedule and allocate resources working in the region across multiple simultaneous project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Autonomous Business Unit, Product Management, Product Development and customer to ensure contracts, scopes of work and terms and conditions are unambiguous, identify and minimize risk and are beneficial to Hexagon.
  • Develop project-planning deliverables, including, but not limited to, schedules, work breakdown structures, execution plans and roles/responsibilities matrixes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers. Foster positive relationships between the internal team and customer representatives.
  • Ensure a high performing environment for the project team by motivating, facilitating and coaching as required.
  • Effectively ensure complex systems are deployed to the highest standard to meet project milestones.
  • Challenge project requirements and methods of deployment and encourage entrepreneurial behavior.
  • Proactively track and report on project risks. Work to deliver technical and non-technical solutions.
  • Ensure regular project status updates are delivered to customers.
  • Organise project meetings and ensure stakeholders are aware of upcoming meetings and travel.
  • Track projects against budgets (time and cost). Provide regular project updates to internal stakeholders and ensure customers are informed on progress against budget.
  • Identify and assist with improvements in the deployment process.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Services team, to encourage team building and coaching / professional development of team.
  • Engage with all relevant stakeholders to ensure optimum usage of Hexagon products and solutions and a positive end-user experience for the customer.
  • Lead retrospective and lessons learned sessions. Actively develop and nurture a culture of consistency, continuous improvement, learning and development and cross-skilling within the Services team.
  • Compliance with Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures, participation in audits and compliance with instructions given in respect to the health and safety of himself / herself and the safety of others
  • Identify training and new project work opportunities and inform Sales Team or Services Managers.
  • Other duties as required from time to time

Knowledge & Experience Required:

Education/Credentials:

  • An Engineering/IT degree with a major in Electrical/Electronic/Mining Engineering/Information Systems/Information Technology or similar
  • Formal Project Management certifications like PMP® or PRINCE2®

Experience / Skills / Attributes:

  • Mining industry experience, Open-pit and underground production environment exposure preferred.
  • Autonomous with previous Hexagon technology stack experience is essential.
  • Significant project management experience delivering multidiscipline IT or engineering projects.
  • Strong software experience, a proven track record dealing with IT system implementations.
  • Commercial experience delivering projects in line with the business strategies.
  • Proven experience delivering projects on time and in budget.
  • Sound knowledge of risk management principles and practices and ways of mitigating those risks to an acceptable level.
  • Strong sense of urgency, being able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise where necessary.
  • Considerable experience in a team role directly responsible for engineers or related staff
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, including the ability to provide direction to local and remote staff.
  • Experience working across cultures with teams throughout the world across multiple time zones to deliver a local project.
  • Results driven personality.

Travel:

  • On Mine-Site, Domestic and international travel will be required for this role.
