The Position; Reporting to the Software Services & Support Manager, we are looking for a Software Support Engineer to join our Balikpapan team. This positions responsibility is to ensure that Hexagon's software systems are optimized and delivering maximum value to customer operations. Leveraging your technical expertise, you analyse deployed systems and products, providing critical support through training, instruction, and advice on their effective use and operation.
In addition, but not limited to the following responsibilities;
Technical
· Troubleshoot and resolve a broad range of complex technical issues by leveraging expert technical knowledge and an in-depth knowledge of Hexagon’s suite of products.
· Manage compatibility and integration issues with diverse hardware and software environments to resolution.
Operational
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure minimal disruption to client operations during support and upgrade activities
· Maintain, enhance, and adhere to Hexagon and client documentation and reporting standards, systems, processes, policies, and procedures, participating in audits when required.
Customer Engagement
· Maintain, enhance, and adhere to Hexagon and client documentation and reporting standards, systems, processes, policies, and procedures, participating in audits when required.
Travel
· This position may require travel to client sites ad hoc as per required. All travel and accommodation will be provided by business.

In addition we are seeking those with the following qualifications and skills;
Technical
Tertiary Qualifications in Software/Mechatronics or Electronics Engineering, computer science or related fields,
Prior experience within mining, ideally across Fleet Management Systems/safety system product suites
Experience with Linux OS and shell scripting
Knowledge of C++ OR Objective-C programming languages
Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server) or NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
Experience working in the mining industry. Global experience desirable.
