Purpose of Position:
Hexagon Mining in partnership with our client will deploy and operate a world-first fleet of 120 fully Autonomous Road Trains to carry ore 150km to the Port. Hexagon Mining have multiple exciting leadership opportunities for Autonomous Control Supervisor's to join our team full-time in Western Australia on this cutting-edge Autonomous Road Trains project. The Autonomous Control Supervisor's will lead a fly-in-fly-out team ensuring the safe handling and transportation of product, complying with relevant safety regulations and standards. You will be an excellent team player and collaborator sitting on the projects leadership team and critical to its success.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- This is a leadership position that will be responsible for the ensuring the health, safety and well-being of their team
- Operate the autonomous road trains across all areas of the haulage operation including loading, travelling, tipping, refuelling and marshalling
- Manage or assign vehicles for load/unload haulage operations in accordance with the mine plan
- Ensure coordination across teams to guarantee smooth operations across haulage, pit and port operations particularly at handover points for loading and tipping
- Optimise haulage routes to minimise travel time, fuel consumption and road wear
- Establish a continuous improvement approach, identifying and executing initiatives to further optimise haulage operations
- Proactively monitor and supervise haulage operations to address potential issues or emergencies
- Provide real-time tracking and reporting, including progress updates and material movement
Knowledge and Experience - Required:
- Experience in mining operations, with knowledge of daily mine workings or previous operation control room exposure
- Experience in a mining or heavy industry environment working with Fleet Management (MineStar, Modular Dispatch etc), Mining Safety, Control Systems or other related operational technology
- Detailed understanding of mine safety regulations, processes and systems
- The ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
- High attention to detail and the ability to identify and execute improvements to continuously optimise operations
- Must have the right to work in Australia
Knowledge and Experience - Desired:
- Proven experience leading a team of fly-in-fly-out resources in a 24/7 operation
- Dispatch experience working with autonomous mobile equipment
Travel:
This is a fly-in-fly-out position to Ashburton on an 8/6 & 7/7 roster for a healthy work-life balance
