JOB DESCRIPTION

The Regional Manager is responsible for managing Hess brands within his/her assigned territory. In essence this involves the Planning, Program setting, Performance evaluation and Course Correcting of distributor teams, a process we call PEECC. This role is responsible for the following 4 state region: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky. Ideally the candidate will reside in Michigan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Execute annual operating plan for depletions and shipments for all channels while keeping spend within budget. Evaluate and course correct distributor performance through quarterly business reviews and Milestone Program execution.

  • Establish relationships with distributor sales leadership, key regional accounts and chain retail personnel.
  • Train and develop distributor account executives and sales representatives to ensure they have a strong working knowledge of our product credentials (key selling points), quality accolades, pricing and merchandising standards and access to trade portal.
  • Support Division Manager with robust bottoms-up Annual Operating Plan with the distributor, defining depletions and points growth by channel for each distributor.
  • Lead sales meetings, blitzes, surveys, winemaker visits and other sales promotional activities within the region.
  • Manage regional sales budgets, including pricing structures, pricing support, invoices and programs.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidate must be able to travel at least 50% of the time.
  • Bachelor's degree (or the equivalent) from a four-year college or university with at least four years experience in the industry, two of those years in wine/spirits supplier activities.
  • Experience managing distributor partnerships specifically as it relates to building pricing grids, goal alignment/achievement, and developing programs.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and implementing market plans that drive an increased rate of sale.
  • Demonstrated effective people, sales, and time management skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or be able to travel in a timely manner.
