Operations Manager

Operations | American Canyon, CA | Full Time | From $100,000.00 to $145,000.00 per year

Job Description

You will be responsible for ensuring that maintenance, engineering, and site compliance at two Hess Persson Estates (HPE) winemaking facilities in Napa Valley, California, are performing at peak levels while delivering HPE's goals for quality and style. Your knowledge of engineering and maintenance will maximize uptime, asset utilization, and safety while aiding in the training and development of your colleagues and peers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate the Annual Operating plan through detailed budgeting, tracking, and management of expenses
  • Ensure operation procedures meet or exceed sustainability benchmarks and continuously improve by questioning the status quo
  • Research and oversee winery equipment acquisitions and installation
  • Serve as liaison with regulatory and local officials on zoning, permitting, or compliance needs
  • Safeguards that the winery is in compliance with all federal, state and Napa County permits and regulations for construction, mechanical, and safety standards.
  • Maintain cutting edge wastewater management facilities and associated equipment
  • Serve as the designated Safety Officer and Emergency Coordinator
  • Lead and actively participate in employee learning, development, and other engagement initiatives
  • Manage one direct report, Maintenance Supervisor, and oversee the hiring and training of the maintenance teams across two facilities

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years of leadership experience in a facility engineering/plant operation, at least 3 of those years in a beverage environment
  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline preferred
  • Proven Experience successfully managing projects from initiation to completion, ideally with a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management role
  • Ability to lead, collaborate and inspire teams towards the achievement of common goals and objectives
  • A broad understanding of various aspects of production, including personnel supervision, workflow scheduling, maintenance of equipment and facilities, capacity planning, and the development of procedures
  • Certified or willingness to become certified in Food Safety programs: HAACP, SQF
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Ability to travel between two facilities in Napa, and American Canyon
  • Must possess valid driver's license and be insurable under the company insurance policy

This role’s compensation is anticipated to fit within the range of $100,000 - $145,000 annual salary. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, knowledge and education.
