JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Luxury Field Sales Manager is responsible for managing/growing Hess Persson Estates brands within Alpha Accounts in the Northern California Region with focus on the greater Bay Area. This involves the Planning/Pre-Selling, Execution, Performance Evaluation and Course Correcting of programs in designated accounts. This role is responsible for the region of Northern California (Bay area, Napa)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Build strong business relationships with wine buyers and influencers in the designated Alpha Accounts (Focus Top 25 Upscale Safeway, top 150 General Market Accounts)
  • Execute Distribution Priorities for our Lions Head, and Hess Collection Luxury portfolios
  • Conduct daily retail store visits in Alpha Accounts to merchandise Luxury wines
  • Execute quarterly volume and Distribution Goals that are broken out by item.
  • Track the progress to goal and report weekly feedback that progress to California Sales team in a timely fashion.
  • Work with distributor teams to execute store level programs for the entire Hess Persson portfolio within account universe
  • Monitor and communicate distributor inventory to maintain stock of luxury items
  • Conduct weekly consumer tasting in top retail accounts.
  • Conduct staff trainings, wine dinners, events with top on premise accounts
  • Conduct wholesaler sales meetings and trainings, expose the brands to sales reps, buyers and consumers via tastings and shows
  • Conduct quarterly visits to the winery and build stories to share with customers, wholesalers, and consumers (Be a Brand Ambassador)
  • Execute Programs within market A&P budget, as well as travel & expense budget
  • Plan and discuss in advance weekly /monthly activities with Division Manager
  • Report monthly expenses in a timely fashion

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Candidate must be able to travel at least 80% of the time, with occasional out of state travel to support sales blitzes
  • Candidate should be located in the California North Bay Area
  • Bachelor's degree (or the equivalent) from a four-year college or university with at least four years experience in the industry, two of those years in wine/spirits supplier activities.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and implementing market plans that achieved a sales increase.
  • Current knowledge of the market, distributors and buyers in that area.
  • Demonstrated success in pricing and budget management.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or be able to travel in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

This role’s compensation is anticipated to fit within the range of $70,000 TO $80,000. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, knowledge and education.
