Digital/Media Sales Manager - New Haven/Torrington CT

Job Description


PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE: To meet company expected revenue goals, grow market share through the management of Digital & Print Account Executives who will sell all products of Hearst CT Media Group.


  • Set monthly revenue goals for each sales position to achieve by making an average of 60 sales/prospecting calls per week. Increase active account base and developing new customers over previous year. .

  • Manage and implement new sales initiatives of all products, including supplements, special sections, shared mail and other projects. Monitor progress.

  • Understand strategic vision; plan and set goals to support it.

  • Achieve expected revenue goals.

  • Analyzes and balances monthly profit and loss statements and accounting reports as needed.

  • Accept and manage change of team members who resist planned and unplanned change. Foster a productive work environment. Reward success. Work productively and encourage peek performance among teams through empowerment and motivation.

  • Think creatively. Approach old problems with new methods.

  • Negotiate agreement and commitment among subordinates, peers, customers. Mediate disputes. Collaborate to achieve common goals.

  • Delegate effectively.

  • Monitor individual and team performance; team selling. 

  • Develop team members through coaching; lead by example. Give and receive feedback regularly. Evaluate performance.

  • Manage organizational performance by improving processes; build customer value through service and performance.

  • Encourage participative decision making when appropriate.


To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Experience, Skills, Licenses, Certification, Education Required:

  • 1 - 5 years team management/mentorship/leadership experience required. 

  • 5  years of successful digital/media sales performance required.

  • Time management and organizational skills.

  • Presentation skills. Initiative. Creativity.

  • Ability to adapt to and manage change in fast-paced environment.
