About the Job
As a key functional member of the Research department, the Research Associate will work with Senior Staff to manage client projects from the discovery process, to the development of research questionnaires, through the production of client deliverables. Research Associates will learn the key elements of successful polling while managing the research process for each project, ensuring the quality and accuracy of final deliverables, as well as ensuring all deadlines are met.
Essential Job Duties:
Report to and work with two senior Research Analysts to support their projects
Coordinate with internal departments and outside vendors to ensure projects are successful and finish on time, including problem-solving challenges to keep projects on track
Ensure research accuracy and rigor through quality control checks (e.g., testing survey programming, reviewing research participants' profiles, proofing memos and PowerPoint decks)
Program online and phone surveys
Prepare first drafts of initial interview scripts for screening focus group, in-depth interviews, and online discussion board participants
Monitor and take notes on qualitative research discussions in real time
Provide support to analysts in data analyses and reporting of research findings, including revising memos, reports and PowerPoint decks; preparing data tables; helping synthesize findings from qualitative research
Participate in conference calls with clients
Conduct online searches for project-relevant data and background information
Work on specialized research projects as requested

During COVID, all positions at Hart Research Associates are virtual but this job will eventually be onsite in our Washington, DC offices.
The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to climb and descend multiple flights of stairs, visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 5-15 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and ability to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to be in one position for long periods of screen use, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear both in person and over devices. The employee interacts in close spaces and frequently with other workers, vendors, and clients. The position works in an office environment with artificial light and air.
