Junior Employment Attorney

Legal | Remote in WASHINGTON, DC | Full Time | From $100,000.00 to $125,000.00 per year

Harmon, Curran, Spielberg & Eisenberg, LLP, a small, collegial, values-oriented law firm in Washington, DC that serves the progressive nonprofit public interest community, is seeking a junior attorney to join our firm’s employment law practice.


The position offers the opportunity to help advise nonprofit organizations working to advance civil rights, environmental protection, immigrant rights, democracy, accountability, and other social and economic justice issues. We help our clients understand and navigate the law in a way that reflects and furthers their values. We are interested in candidates who share our public interest orientation.


The attorney will primarily assist with counseling clients on employment law matters, such as anti-discrimination and anti-harassment law, wage and hour law, family and medical leave and sick and safe leave laws, as well as with workplace compliance issues such as obligations under express and implied employment contracts and best practices for handling discipline and separations. In addition to employment work, the attorney may assist in providing general counsel and corporate governance advice to the firm’s clients.

Job Requirements:

We are seeking a junior candidate with 2 or more years of experience. Having prior clerkship or fellowship experience or employment and/or labor law experience is a plus.


Qualified candidates will be motivated self-starters with strong academic credentials, excellent research, writing and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the eagerness and ability to learn quickly. Candidates must be a member of or eligible for admission to the DC Bar.


The firm requires proof of full, up to date vaccination against COVID-19 (including applicable boosters) before the first day of employment, subject to applicable law.
