About the Role

We are actively seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Architect to join our team in Richmond, VA. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud solutions, architecture design, and enterprise-scale implementations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who can balance technical leadership with hands-on execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize Azure cloud architectures for enterprise applications and infrastructure.

  • Lead migration initiatives from on-premises to Azure, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud strategies, roadmaps, and best practices.

  • Provide technical leadership across DevOps, security, networking, and data engineering teams.

  • Develop automation frameworks for deployment, monitoring, and governance.

  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and organizational policies for cloud adoption.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing across teams.


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in Azure cloud architecture.

  • Proven expertise in Azure services: Azure AD, AKS, App Services, Functions, Storage, Networking, Security, and Monitoring.

  • Strong background in infrastructure as code (IaC) using ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.

  • Experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

  • Solid understanding of cloud security frameworks and compliance standards.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work onsite in Richmond, VA 2–3 days per week.

  • Must be available for an onsite interview.


Preferred Skills

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent.

  • Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.

  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.

  • Knowledge of cost optimization strategies in Azure.
