Psychiatrist – (New York City)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our healthcare team in New York City. The Psychiatrist will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing mental health conditions across diverse patient populations. This role requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering evidence-based psychiatric care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including medical history, mental status examinations, and diagnostic assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and other evidence-based interventions.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring efficacy and side effects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and primary care providers.
- Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
- Participate in case conferences, peer reviews, and continuing education to stay current with psychiatric best practices.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency Program.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry (ABPN).
- Valid New York State medical license (or eligibility to obtain).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience preferred, though new graduates with strong training will be considered.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, psychotherapy modalities, and integrated care approaches.
