Job Description

Recruiter – Security Staffing

Location: Stockton, CA Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Sara Kaur, COO

About the Role

We're hiring a Recruiter to lead full-cycle hiring for security officer positions across our sites. This role owns the candidate journey from initial sourcing through phone screening, interview coordination, and new-hire compliance intake - working closely with Scheduling, HR, and Operations to keep staffing pipelines strong and every hire fully compliant with California licensing requirements.

What You'll Do

Sourcing & Pipeline Development

  • Proactively source candidates through multiple channels: job boards, internal training pipeline graduates (Guard Card, firearm permit holders), BSIS-certified training schools, employee referrals, rehire/alumni outreach, community job fairs, staffing agencies, and social media

  • Ensure every posting clearly reflects role, site type, schedule, pay range, and licensing requirements

  • Maintain and re-engage a talent pool of pre-screened candidates

Candidate Screening & Intake

  • Review incoming resumes, applications, referrals, and walk-in inquiries

  • Conduct structured phone screens covering availability, commute, licensing status, prior security experience, and professionalism

  • Manage application requirements and interview scheduling

Interviewing & Selection

  • Lead initial candidate interviews, confirming understanding of job duties, schedule, and compliance requirements

  • Coordinate second interviews with Scheduling, Operations, or HR when required (e.g., high-risk or armed sites)

  • Document interview outcomes and submit pass/fail recommendations

Onboarding & Compliance

  • Extend conditional job offers and schedule new hires for orientation

  • Complete pre-orientation identity verification (photo ID, I-9 documentation, California onboarding forms, BSIS Guard Card verification)

  • Serve as backup orientation provider when needed

Post-Hire Support

  • Conduct structured employee follow-ups at key milestones (post-orientation, first shift, 30/60/90 days, and beyond) to gather feedback on payroll, scheduling, training, HR, and dispatch support

Field & Community Outreach

  • Represent the company at job fairs and networking events to build candidate awareness and interest

  • Build and maintain relationships with local high schools, community colleges, and vocational schools to establish a steady referral pipeline

  • Coordinate with training program job placement offices to connect with upcoming graduates

What We're Looking For

  • Prior experience in recruiting, staffing, or HR - security or field-services industry a plus

  • Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) BSIS licensing requirements and I-9/employment eligibility verification

  • Strong communication and interviewing skills; comfortable managing a high-volume candidate pipeline

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to follow structured compliance processes

  • Ability to work collaboratively across Scheduling, HR, and Operations teams
