General Manager of Distribution

Gwynnie Bee, an online women’s clothes rental company based in New York, with offices in Palo Alto, CA and Mumbai, India is experiencing rapid growth and is looking for a unique and skilled General Manager to run their new distribution center in Columbus, Ohio. Facility is planned to open Summer 2014.

The successful candidate will possess a desired balance of best practices experience in a dynamic warehouse environment and running an efficient operation with the focus of building a productive team culture and changing how e-commerce business services their customers. No status quo mentality need apply.

Responsibilities

·       ·  Identify short-term improvements needed to meet the goals and objectives of a new 75K foot facility. Establish long-term strategic goals to support company initiatives as it relates to distribution and delivery service levels.

·       ·  Develop and manage expectations of team resources to exceed financial, operations, and leadership objectives.

·       ·  Self-directed manager yet able to work in an environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple stakeholders.

·       ·  Ensure business remains focused on customer service requirements and operational performance and the talent to support ongoing efforts are in place through job training and career development.

·       ·  Act as the main point of contact for all Midwest operations

·       ·  Ensure that the facility is properly staffed through labor planning strategies and 3PL temp

agencies.

·       ·  Ensure corporate policy and regulatory initiatives toward associates are consistently managed.

· Ensure best practices are implemented throughout the organization, with a focus on Lean Manufacturing/Production, Kaizen and/or Sigma Six methodology.

Qualifications

·       ·  Must have at least 5 to 7 years of distribution and supply chain management experience required

·       ·  Bachelor’s degree preferred

·       ·  5+ year’s experience managing full P&L preferred

·       ·  Hands on management approach encouraging change and creative problem solving

·       ·  Ability to make data driven decisions

·       ·  Ability to work in a fast pace, high-intensity environment

·       ·  Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels in support of customer relationships

·       ·  Ability to meet strict time frames in environments with zero tolerance for failure commitment to continuous improvement in an ever-changing industry

·       ·  Excellent communication and presentation skills

·       ·  OSHA health and safety knowledge and practices required

·       ·  Ability to grow, mentor and develop others
