ABOUT THE JOB:

Guidebook is looking for an innovative designer with a proven track record of creating outstanding consumer internet products on both web and mobile. The position requires a detail oriented, creative individual who is passionate about new technology and building delightful user experiences.

Because our team is small, you’ll be given lots of responsibility and opportunity to impact the overall product and business. You'll work with the team to build product-defining features as well as be a decision-maker in what direction we take the product. Attention to detail, good taste and a “get things done” mindset will be critical to your success at Guidebook. The ideal candidate will also quickly grasp complex problems and translate them into elegant, understandable solutions.

IN YOUR DAY-TO-DAY, YOU’LL:

  • be a part of roadmap and sprint planning meetings

  • work with others or individually to deliver concepts, prototypes and pixel-perfect mockups

  • mentor a junior designer

  • use product analytics and AB-test results to inform your design decisions

  • use Sketch and Abstract to build out designs for Product and Marketing

  • participate in user research studies

  • brainstorm and iterate on product ideas

  • oversee the design of products/features from inception through execution


CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • degree in interaction design, visual design, or equivalent experience

  • 4-5+ years of experience designing and shipping consumer internet products (mobile, web, or both)

  • strong understanding of human-computer interaction principles

  • fluency in Sketch, Abstract, and/or other design tools

  • rapid prototyping skills, using tools such as Principle

  • experience building landing pages, email templates and sales collateral

  • outstanding brainstorming and whiteboarding skills

  • passion for building things and for new technology
