Graphic Designer
Graphics | Sydney | Full Time
Grimshaw’s Sydney studio is seeking a passionate and talented Graphic Designer to support the Australian practice across architectural competitions, tender submissions, marketing initiatives and practice communications.
Working closely with Partners, the Business Development and Communications teams, and architectural project teams, the Graphic Designer will produce graphic material of the highest quality in line with Grimshaw’s brand standards. This role suits a motivated and creative designer with strong technical fundamentals who is keen to develop their skills within a globally recognised architectural practice.
The Graphic Designer supports the delivery of clear, compelling and well‑crafted visual communication across print, digital and presentation media, contributing to bids, proposals, events, publications and online content.
Core Responsibilities
Core responsibilities of the Graphic Designer will include:
- Supporting tender, prequalification and competition submissions through graphic layout, data collation and presentation design
- Designing and producing printed materials including practice brochures, award submissions and marketing collateral
- Preparing artwork, layouts and templates for reports, presentations and proposals for Partners and architectural teams
- Providing creative design input into events, exhibitions and marketing initiatives, including invitations, event graphics, social media content, displays and exhibition panels
- Maintaining the practice portfolio by updating and developing project pages as directed
- Managing and maintaining the digital image library in close collaboration with Business Development and Communications teams
- Supporting website, digital content and social media campaigns through supplying images, graphics and basic page content
- Preparing presentations in both InDesign and PowerPoint
- Liaising with external suppliers to ensure high‑quality output and timely delivery
This position will involve hands‑on design and production work across multiple projects and deadlines.

Skills and Qualifications
- Degree or qualification in Graphic Design, Communication Design or a related discipline
- 1–3 years of relevant professional experience (including brochures, posters, presentations, data visualisation or brand materials)
- Strong understanding of graphic design principles, typography and layout
- High‑level proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience designing presentations in InDesign and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to prepare artwork correctly for both print and digital outputs
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self‑motivated, flexible and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Interest in architecture and the built environment is highly desirable
Digital design skills that can be applied to websites, eDMs and digital presentations are beneficial.
