Accounting Supervisor

Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Supervisor to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the finance team in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal controls. This role will supervise AP/AR processes, assist with general ledger maintenance, help manage inventory tracking, and support the month-end close. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting, attention to detail, and experience supervising a small team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries

  • Assist with maintaining an accurate chart of accounts and financial records

  • Review and reconcile inventory counts and cost variances in collaboration with operations

  • Support the preparation and distribution of weekly or monthly financial reports

  • Help ensure accurate mapping of POS items and operational recipes within accounting systems

  • Assist with resolving discrepancies related to third-party vendor billing and employee benefits

  • Monitor and support timely invoice processing and collections follow-up

  • Participate in the month-end close process and preparation of internal financial statements

  • Coordinate with the team on state and local tax filings

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve accuracy

  • Provide mentorship and training to junior accounting staff

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, including supervision of AP/AR functions

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP)

  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems (R365 a plus)

  • Strong Excel skills; proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Adobe

  • Comfortable handling multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Restaurant or hospitality industry experience is a plus

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a must
