Collaborating within regional food systems around the Chicago food shed, Gourmet Gorilla works with food hubs, rural farmers, urban agriculturalists, dietitians, nutritionists, talented chefs, and organic food manufacturers. We provide quality ingredients as well as connections and partnerships to educational resources on healthy food curriculum, the value of fresh healthy and sustainable food, garden projects, and ecological awareness.

We are seeking a full-time cook to manager Salad, Sandwich and Lunch Box Station.

Duties

• Large scale batch cooking: Particularly Salad, Sandwich and Lunch Box Station
• Manage Team of 2 to 3 people
• Putting together customized lunch boxes to order

Requirements

• Culinary knowledge and experience
• Superior attention to detail
• Experience managing staff & delegating tasks effectively
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements (food service sanitation certification a plus)
• Positive attitude, reliable, and flexible
• Fluent in English (bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus)
• Strong communication skills
• Clean background check
• Knowledge of following HACCP standards

Job Details

• Days: Monday through Friday
• Location: Chicago, IL
• Pay: $11/hour to start
• Start: Immediately
