Job Description
About the Role:

The Budtender greets and welcomes patients, helps patients with product selections, adheres to policies and procedures, and ensures a wonderful patient experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides a wonderful experience for the patient.
  • Advises patients on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis.
  • Keepes abreast of new cannabis products on the market as well as the latest industry trends.
  • Processes patients’ payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Ensures that the store is always clean and well-organized.
  • Educates patients on the safe use of their selected cannabis product.
  • Correctly weighs, packages, and labels cannabis products, as required.
  • Checks patient’s identification documents to verify that they are of legal age and hold the necessary credentials needed to enter the dispensary and purchase product.
  • Takes inventory of cannabis products and ensures that the sales floor is adequately stocked.
  • Ensures that assigned opening and closing tasks are completed.
  • Maintains compliance by following the proper policies and procedures set by the company and the state.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Education
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proven experience working as a Budtender is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to pass a background check and receive a facility agent card from the state.
  • Sound knowledge of cannabis strains and their medicinal benefits.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Work well with other team members.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving throughout the retail environment.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive motions as required by the position.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Operating hours may extend from 8:00 AM to 3:00 AM, and employees must be available to work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Part-Time employees may be scheduled between 14 and 28 hours per week based on business needs and availability.
