You are passionate about observing people to uncover their deep needs and values. You are natural in interviewing people to understand what their lives are about and interacting with clients to help them better articulate their challenges. You have a curious mind and easily make connections between diverse fields and industries. You use this diverse input to illuminate new insights for new or existing services, products and/or features.
4+ years of professional work experience conducting qualitative user experience research.
Expert in moderating and manage usability tests with prototype or creative visioning as stimulus
Experience with a variety of qualitative research methodologies, such as 1:1 interviews (IDI), moderating group conversations, contextual, ethnographic research, onsite/offsite.
This is inclusive of gathering objectives, creating the approach, moderating and synthesis of findings.
Deliverables often include: participant screeners, discussion guide/approach outlines, findings reports, and research readouts.
Experience in design thinking, service design and digital strategy.
Work with internal and external clients: product managers, designers, engineers, research team, account managers, and strategists.
You have experience working within a variety of industries (finance is a plus).
BA/BS in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent practical experience. MA preferred.
