Senior UX Strategy Consultant

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Senior Consultants lead and manage large, complex and high risk assignments, often multidisciplinary in nature. They provide clear and actionable focus and direction for both internal teams and clients. They originate new work, develop proposals and lead on pitches. They are industry leads, sought by clients and recognised as an authority in their area of specialism. They support the leadership team (Consultant Partners & Directors) in the delivery of the overall Consulting business vision and mentor/coach more junior staff in order to nurture their capability and long-term development of the Consulting Strategy team.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a digital transformation, service design, customer experience and design strategy evangelist - seeking opportunities and creating initiatives to inspire clients and build long-standing, consultative relationships at a senior level.

  • Be highly consultative in nature - working with clients to understand their challenges and frustrations and defining opportunities for ways to solve them.

  • Provide clear direction on large, complex projects in order to focus the client and teams on the right things at the right time.

  • Lead proposal development and create statement of works which include pricing and planning for complex projects on behalf of the company’s biggest blue-chip clients.

  • Lead new business pitches for new and existing client accounts.

  • Proactively look for new business opportunities and manage commercial relations between company and assigned client accounts.

  • Resolve complex client issues and agree way forward. Provide an escalation point for crisis intervention / jeopardy management.

  • Maximise revenue opportunities and the profitability of projects.

  • Act as the strategic project lead on large, complex, high risk assignments - often multidisciplinary in nature - delivering them on time and budget, and in line with the project and client requirements.

  • Continuously looking to improve existing practices by refining techniques or introducing new ones

  • Mentor / coach more junior members of the team

 

About you

  • You have a genuine passion for business and design strategy, customer experience and service design - and being consultative with clients and teams

  • You are comfortable outside your comfort zone and ‘being thrown in the deep end’

  • Collaborative by nature - you should work well in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline driven environment and working on multiple projects at the same time

  • Confident working alongside designers, researchers, data scientists and techies - and convincing them to take a specific strategic direction in order to deliver successful project outcomes

  • Excited by change and challenging the status quo - you are proactive in everything you do - from self-development to learning about clients, their issues and how to resolve them

  • Managed key account relationships, with responsibility for delivering client growth and revenue targets

  • Desire to take responsibility for leading the strategic direction of the business and supporting the Partners and Directors in delivering the company’s vision

  • Able to inspire and lead teams of individuals across the business, while being acknowledged as authority within the strategy team

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience at a senior level leading the strategic direction of major work-streams / client projects on behalf of blue-chip organisations

  • Highly proficient with the interpretation and use of data - both quantitative and qualitative - to inform strategic recommendations

  • A degree or Master’s qualification in a related field
