Senior Strategy Consultant

The Role

The Senior Strategy Consultant leads the strategic approach, working closely with design and research teams on multidisciplinary projects. They are also one of the client’s main partners and advisors. He/She will clarify and prioritize opportunities based on new insights, and shape the future of products, services, businesses, and industries. Whilst having a clear understanding of a client’s objectives, the Senior Strategy Consultant always brings the customer into any consideration of the client’s challenges, and is able to connect the dots between customer needs and desires, market trends and competitive analysis.

 

Responsibilities

  • In any project or program, gain a clear understanding of what is required from a business perspective

  • Engage with stakeholders and/or customers to create a clear strategic vision that defines the objective of the work

  • In collaboration with the team and client, define a plan that will deliver this vision

  • Assess and analyze existing data and research, and identify gaps in knowledge

  • Define what is required from customer-centric product insights, being a hands-on practitioner to create a high-level strategy (user experience, digital journeys, mind maps, etc), working together with product managers, business analysts, designers, developers with requirements gathering, prioritizing what needs to be tested

  • Manage the entire usability test or any qualitative research, including the supervision and support to identify objective definition, approach, screener, discussion guide and stimulus (prototype) development. It also includes moderation guidance and synthesizing findings (reports, and research readouts)

  • Be consultative, working directly and partnering with clients, to understand their business, challenges, pain points, and opportunities, continuously adding value and managing expectations

  • Leverage customer-centric and qualitative research to improve product engagement, usability, and affinity

  • Host and manage different insights & research methods including, but not limited to: ideation workshops, road mapping, prioritization, in-depth Interviews, contextual studies, diary studies, ethnography, co-creation

  • Manage and collaborate through the entire end to end product lifecycle with cross-functional teams, business partners, and internal stakeholders

  • Maintain an advanced understanding of end-to-end customer experience possibilities and dependencies

  • Prioritize roadmap to ensure work focuses on maximum value, aligned with overall product strategy as well as all stakeholders (i.e. design teams, dev teams, business analysts, product managers, project managers, clients)

  • Represent the UX discipline and educate others on the process in pitches and meetings

  • Leverage design thinking process across various project sizes and timelines

 

About you

  • A clear thinker with the ability to both understand and define the big picture, but also jump into the details to enable the team to deliver

  • Ability to communicate clearly and compellingly (ideas, concepts, strategies, plans etc) to colleagues and clients of all levels

  • Be passionate and expert about customer centricity, product development & foundational consulting skills, including problem framing and structuring, expertise design research and data analysis

  • Demonstrate expertise in a range of skills, such as organizational strategy, channel and go-to-market models, customer/market research, etc

  • Select appropriate frameworks, tools, and approaches to use in solving client problems

  • Be excited by change and challenging the status quo

  • Be proactive in everything you do, from your self-development to learning about your clients, their issues and how to resolve them

  • Collaborative by nature you should work well in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline driven environment and working on multiple projects

  • Strong listening, presentation, communication and collaboration skills

  • Lead client presentations

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years of digital experience preferably focused on strategy, customer experience, research, and design

  • 3+ years working in a product development environment, with full knowledge and experience in all phases of a product lifecycle

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, Master's degree preferred

  • Demonstrated excellence in client service professionalism, maturity, and diplomacy

  • Strong client management and communications skills--both verbal and written

  • Presentation skills and rationale for internal and external stakeholders

  • Solid experience in working as part of a large multicultural and multi-geographical teams throughout an entire product life cycle

  • Proven ability to think strategically, with a balanced analytical and creative mindset

  • Ability to collaborate across teams in a dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment

  • Advanced knowledge of Sketch, Invision, full Adobe Creative Suite, etc

  • Solid understanding of user-centered design and the design process

  • Experience in helping companies embrace transformation, uniting technology efforts around a common vision that is anchored in customer needs.

  • Comfortable solving problems through a 'hypothesis-driven' approach using a combination of top-down and bottom-up analysis
