Senior Data Scientist

A Senior Data Scientist at Globant will provide strategy support to Business areas by leveraging analytical, statistical and programming skills to collect, analyze and interpret large structured and unstructured data sets.


  • Identify enhancement opportunities in the production cycle

  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business decision making.

  • Help stakeholders define data related project goals

  • Explicit and mathematize working hypothesis to either validate or reject through modeling

  • Define the appropriate modeling strategy, analyze, interpret and present output

  • Understand, guide and define the actionable output and required decision support to be obtained from a model

  • Define follow-through and decisions to be made upon findings from models

  • Build required analytical pipelines

  • Customer behavior prediction in marketing space


  • Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on numerical solutions and product development

  • Good communication skills

  • Strong understanding of marketing and financial concepts

  • Expertise in frequentist inference and computational statistics applications

  • Deep knowledge and experience in supervised Machine Learning techniques for numerical and categorical like: regression, decision trees, support vector machines, neural networks, random forest, boosting and other ensemble methods

  • Knowledge and experience in several unsupervised techniques for clustering, anomaly detection, dimensionality reduction and other applications

  • Re-sampling techniques

  • Understanding of Numerical Optimization algorithms

  • 5+ years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models

  • Understanding of Deep Learning concepts

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PHD in Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science highly desired

  • Text mining

  • Social network analysis

  • Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers: Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Pinterest,  Site Catalyst, Coremetrics, Crimson Hexagon, etc.

Technology & Frameworks:

  • Python - NumPy, Pandas, Jupyter, Scipy, sckit-learn, Matplotlib / Seaborn / Plotly / etc.

  • R - Shiny, Lattice or ggplot2, dplyr, r markdown, parallel or data.table, forecast

  • SQL, Hive

  • NoSQL

  • Spark / MLLib desirable

  • GIT

  • TensorFlow, Theano, Caffe or other Deep Learning frameworks
