Future Makers Internship

Consulting | New York, NY, USA | Full Time

Job Description

The Company

The Strategy team at Globant is a global customer experience strategy consultancy unit that helps clients create impactful and exciting journeys. We uncover insights to connect and engage our clients with the customers – both emotionally and functionally through research, strategy and concepting.

Future Makers is a 12-week paid internship for the brightest new designers, thinkers and doers. This has the option of being full-time (40 hours) or part-time (20 hours). Your brief: own it, shape it, make it.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a live project or brief, and see it through from sketchpad to delivery. Working with some of the best in the business, you'll learn all the skills needed to shape and concept and develop boundary-pushing work - while getting to flex your creative and problem solving muscles from day one. At the end of the program, we'll select the strongest crew members to join us as full-time Globers.

What You'll Do

Each Future//Maker will be fully immersed in a fast-paced project team. Part detective, part storyteller, you'll use your instinct and logical rigor to get under the skin of a problem - and use your creativity to solve it. You will also be conducting research on industry / competitive landscape from a business and strategy perspective as well as UI / UX design perspective. You will be providing support to Senior Strategists through conducting research, synthesis of findings, ideation, and testing new product concepts for clients. Be prepared to be documenting a project's progress (i.e. case studies), developing frameworks and visualizing findings, as well.

Who You Are

We look for unconventional thinkers and curious minds. You get excited by problems of all shapes and sizes. Big, complex problems- like what does the future of public transport look like? Or those specific, juicy problems no one else thinks about - like how can you delight people when they are visiting an ATM? You're up for falling in love with a challenge, and working collaboratively with a team to see it through. You can communicate your ideas with clarity, and you're good at reading people and know how to bring them along with you.

We are looking for a local NYC recent graduate from a Design, Business or UX background. 1st year graduate local NYC students with some internship experience are also welcome.

Your Skills

You'll ideally have, or be pursuing, a design-based degree with a focus on strategy, business or technology. Or, you may be looking for a career change and want to get more experience in Strategic Design and User Research. Having skills in Adobe CS, Keynote, MS Office, Google (sheets, slides, etc.) is highly valued. Either way, we'd like you to have a fist-pumping passion for good design, solid research skills, a can-do attitude and the ability to communicate and sell your ideas with verve.

What We Offer

Hands-on experience working as a consultant in a live project team, and training in our world-class toolkits and techniques. Each Future//Maker will also be assigned a buddy to shadow. Someone who's been there, seen it all, and can provide advice and support.

Requirements and Deadlines

In order to be considered for the program, you must be a recent graduate or graduating senior in a UX/Design/Business Master's or Bachelor's program. Please include a resume AND a portfolio. You must indicate whether you would like to be considered for a part-time or full-time role. Imperative dates are below:

  • Application Deadline - November 1st
  • Interviews - November 5th - December 20th
  • Start Date - February 1st
  • Last Day - May 1st
