Front-End Web Developer

About Our Front-End Web Developer Position

Use your CSS, HTML, and Javascript skills to build and improve upon GiveGab’s web applications, which nonprofit leaders rely on each day. Your interfaces will delight our users with their aesthetics, ease of use, and technical soundness. Working with Product, Design, Engineering, and Marketing, you will create software that enables organizations to affect change in our world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Brainstorm with designers, developers, and product managers to conceptualize new features

  • Implement UI design for our Web and Mobile Applications

  • Help develop/support UI framework and strategy that allows for efficient web and mobile interface development

  • Work directly with designers and back-end engineers to bring features to life

  • Discuss and estimate user stories during Iteration Planning

  • Provide peer code reviews to check for errors and make sure conforms to existing style guidelines

  • Work across multiple apps to meet the needs of our clients

Required

  • Openness to learning new things

  • Positive, supportive, and welcoming attitude for all members of the team

  • Competent in HTML5, CSS3, Javascript

  • Knowing how to use Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) or Sketch

  • Familiar with Agile Development Process

  • Experience with mobile responsive design

  • Able to work independently with little supervision

  • Comfortable in a small, fast-paced and high-growth startup environment

  • Having a keen eye for design & knowledge of UI design process

Bonus Skills

  • Experienced with Bootstrap

  • Familiarity with popular JS frameworks (JQuery / backbone.js / node.js)

  • You’ve used some type of version control (preferably Git)

  • Familiar with Ruby on Rails

  • Experience prototyping and UX testing and tools like InVision

  • Understanding of nonprofit space
