Position Description:

This position is responsible for encouraging practices to explore the benefits, challenges, and opportunities in improving health outcomes and patient experiences. This position reports to the Director of Quality and Clinical Informatics. The Medical Assistant will work closely with practice staff to include providers, the Quality and Informatics Specialist and the Provider and Clinical Educators. Success as a Medical Assistant in the Quality department requires the ability to provide education and assistance to staff members and efficiently use health information technology to support patient-centered care delivery. The goal is to maintain organizational success in quality, operational and regulatory initiatives.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Registered or Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse
  • 3-5 years of clinical practice experience in medical office workflow, EMR documentation, and leadership.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to learn quality improvement methodology, including workflow assessment and workflow redesign
  • Ability to learn the aspects and workflow of regulatory programs  for quality initiatives
  • Electronic medical record (EMR) education and optimization
  • Must exhibit strong communication skills
  • Possess the ability to function in a high paced clinical setting
  • Highly developed skills using technology; including computerized healthcare information systems, word processing, spreadsheets and presentation applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, analytical and problem‐solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously and produce expected results
  • Understand the impact of regulatory measures for improving patient health outcomes
