Job Description

Clinic Technician CNA / Medical Assistant                                   

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 1-2 years as a CNA I, CNA II or 1-2 years as CMA. At least 1 years experience working with the frail elderly population.

Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Valid NC license, registry or certification in the field of practice.

Special Training: Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written form; able to lift and turn participants; knowledge of and care of adults with chronic health conditions.  Only act within the scope of his or her authority to practice.  Meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by Senior TLC, Inc. and approved by CMS before working independently.

Ages of Patients Rendered Care:   Geriatric Population.

Key Responsibilities: (*denotes an age related skill or task)

  • Performs procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Clinic nurse or designee, which may include venipuncture, EKG, (within scope of practice), urine specimens, etc.
  • Provides personal care to participants at Senior TLC (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, transfers, lifting, and incontinent care.
  • Assist nurse/provider with any activities requested in the clinic.
  • Assist nurse with obtaining and documenting vitals and completing basic triage care.
  • Assist with basic finger sticks and other labs with EMR documentation
  • Answer phone calls and document messages for clinic staff.
  • Clean exam rooms in the clinic (i.e. make beds, change linens).
  • Re-stock clinic supplies.  Order supplies as needed.
  • Assist with Podiatry and Dental clinic as needed
  • Transport participants to the clinic.
  • Attends staff meetings.  Communicates any changes in participant condition to team members.
  • Documents services provided and observations on appropriate forms.
  • Maintain a clean/orderly work space in the clinic environment.
  • Properly dispose of bio-hazard waste.
  • Other duties as assigned.
