Concrete Form Builder/Laborer

Wet-cast | Salt Lake City, UT | Full Time

Job Description

Schedule: Monday through Friday, twelve-hour shifts typical under current workload.  Some Saturdays and Overtime may be required.

Possible shift schedules include, 5AM-5PM, 7AM-7PM, and 9AM-9PM


Primary duties and responsibilities:

Perform all tasks involved in the production of Geneva Pipe’s concrete products. This includes bending and cutting rebar, setting up concrete forms, reading blueprints using basic math and intermediate English, using a tape measure, hand and power tools, pouring and smoothing concrete. Follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

- Perform work as assigned by department supervisor.

- Assemble the materials to produce sub-assemblies or finished product from raw materials.

- Attach appropriate labels and tags to products.

- Track production on schedule boards.

- Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.

- Maintain a clean and safe work area.

- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.


All wet-cast specialists are expected to be available to work in all areas of production and have timely and regular attendance.


Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

The position will be required to perform basic math, read intermediate English, and read blueprints frequently in the course of daily work.  All applicants are given a test in basic math skills, basic English comprehension, and basic blueprint reading prior to an offer of employment.  Previous forklift certification and/or crane operator certification is highly preferred.


Physical environment/working conditions:

The position is highly physical, in a factory, and could involve sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.  All work is performed as part of a team.  Must be able to interact effectively and courteously with all co-workers and supervisors.


Starting Wage:  $14-$15 hourly to start
