The Education Associate facilitates and executes GCAAR’s educational offerings while delivering the highest quality and member service for GCAAR’s 11,000 members and associate members. This person reports to the Education Manager and will drive educational programming for our DC office and GCAAR-on-the-Go classes.
This is a full-time position for a highly organized, self-motivated individual with strong people skills. The Education Associate is primarily based in DC but will regularly travel with GCAAR-on-the-Go and occasionally work in our Rockville office.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the main point person for New Member Orientation, GCAAR On-the-Go and, with the Education Manager, work to elevate awareness and expand the program.
Support continuing education (CE) and professional development, including coordination with instructors and organization of courses and class materials.
Proctor education classes, enforce commission rules, maintain records of attendance, and accept payment at point of service. Provide students with proof of course completion as needed.
Submit credits to the Maryland, DC and Virginia Real Estate Commissions and provide students with certificates of completion.
Prepare and mail correspondence including designation completion letters.
Support the distribution, coordination, and collection of instructor agreements, course outlines, speaker information and materials. Assist with educational content for marketing campaigns and work with the communications team to execute.
Answer general education questions received through incoming phone calls and emails.
Maintain education information in the database and on the association’s website. Update and maintain education-related web pages and the CE and non-CE calendar on the website.
Assist with the execution of the educational components at the annual convention, conferences and special events. Order materials, plaques and other awards. Handle meeting logistics, assist with on-site activities, and coordinate badge scanning at CE sessions.
Compile evaluations of instructors and GCAAR educational offerings and prepare summary reports.
Serve as member contact, field inquiries from current and prospective students, answer questions about the educational programs, and respond to member/customer requests in a timely manner.
Cross trained with member services team to ensure full coverage for member services. Will staff member services on an as-needed basis.
Assist at special events as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
2-3 years previous office support or administrative experience in a similar setting.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred or equivalent work experience required.
Excellent verbal, written, and proofreading skills.
Self-confident team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer service provider and oriented to solve problems.
Developing knowledge of learning/instructional processes and program planning.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and databases, Rapattoni desired.
Effective project management, planning, and organizational skills.
Able to meet time-sensitive deadlines, multitask, and work both independently and in a team environment.
Ability to lift and move heavy items to facilitate events.
Able and willing to work a flexible schedule that will include evening and weekend work.
Must have own transportation and ability to work in Rockville and DC office as well as broker offices across our service area.
Association or real estate brokerage experience preferred, but not required.
