GamesProScouts is looking for a Sr. Environment Technical Artist.  The Sr. Environment Technical Artist collaborates with the Art and Design teams to implement and optimize art assets, as well as create tools to improve team performance. You will collaborate to create efficient and visually impressive PBR material and lighting pipeline while acting as a bridge between the art, design, and engineering teams. You will champion optimal performance and efficiency in the game’s final visual assets, as well as work to effectively solve art or design related bugs that may arise during production. me information about your company here.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with artists to create and improve PBR pipeline  
  • Collaborate with the environment art team to improve and optimize asset creation pipeline  
  • Collaborate with artists to create, maintain, document, and enforce standards for the art team to follow to ensure they are creating efficient and highly optimized assets  
  • Assist artists in creating consistent lighting environments across multiple programs  
  • Script Python and mel art tools 
  • Work with the environment art team to help manage overall performance of levels 
  • Troubleshoot and fix complex workflow issues in Maya, Version Control Systems, and Unreal

Requirements:

  • Proven track record as a Technical Artist on at least 1 shipped title  
  • At least four years of experience in game development  
  • Proficiency with Maya, Unreal, Substance Designer and Painter  
  • Experience with PBR rendering system used in Unreal  
  • Experience with Python, MEL, and HLSL  
  • Self-managing and able to identify and meet goals 
  • A strong passion and experience with materials and lighting

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Unreal Blueprints 
  • Experience with research and development of industry lighting techniques, and standards  
  • Experience with utilization of HDR lighting for in-game levels 
  • Experience collaborating with Designers to ensure that lighting contributes to missions, goals and pace of the game
