Transportation Account Manager

About The Role:
As a Transportation Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing new freight business with in assigned accounts. This will require a deep understanding of transportation and brokerage services, along with excellent relationship management and business development skills.
Responsibilities:
- Function as the transportation primary point contact for assigned accounts, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and providing timely solutions.
- Identify new business transportation opportunities within existing accounts to expand transportation services.
- Develop and implement strategic account plans to maximize revenue and profitability.
- Drive account growth by proactively upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Build a strong relationship with the client, focusing on retention and growth opportunities.
- Ensure profitability through effective pricing strategies and maintaining operational excellence.
- Partner closely with internal teams to propose and implement value-added solutions that align with customer requirements.
- Prepare and present regular reports on assigned accounts performance, revenue forecasts, and market analysis for the management team.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients, ensuring profitability and compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including operations and customer service, to ensure seamless execution of service and meet customer expectations.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales goals by conducting sales meetings.
- Travel to customers’ locations to complete sales meetings and directly work on sales-related activities.
- Assist in the development of customer SOPs required to effectively manage each customer’s business.
- Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and competitors' activities to identify potential risks and opportunities.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of sales and account management experience in transportation and logistics industry
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, or a related field a plus.
- Proven experience in sales and business development in the transportation and brokerage industry.
- In-depth knowledge of FTL, LTL, Drayage, and multimodal transportation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities, driving revenue growth.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Up to 50% of travel is necessary to meet with clients and attend industry events.
