In addition to its partnership with bp pulse, FreeWire and ampm, a bp subsidiary and convenience store chain with over 1,000 locations, have already deployed multiple public charging stations in the U.S. FreeWire’s regulatory affairs and policy team keeps customers up to date on federal, state, and utility incentive opportunities, which in some cases cover up to 80% of the cost of the charging station, and the company recently announced that the Boost Charger is Buy America compliant. Human Resources Operations Manager

Oakland, CA & Newark, CA

The Human Resources Operations Manager will be instrumental in supporting the organization’s growth by ensuring the Human Resources department remains compliant with the changing legal landscape. The main goal of the Human Resources Manager is to ensure FreeWire can attract the industry’s best talent and then properly reward, motivate, develop, and retain them. The duties and responsibilities include creating an HR infrastructure that supports rapid growth and providing advisory-level consultation to executives about people-related issues. This position reports to the Director, Human Resources Business Partner and will serve as a mentor to other team members of the HR & Talent team.


  • Run employee culture and engagement efforts, including surveys, assessments, etc.
  • Oversee all aspects of HR Operations including HRIS data systems management, effective onboarding and development programs, employee relations, benefit programs, etc.
  • Ensure legal compliance with all HR support including policies, leave benefits, practices, etc.
  • Optimize performance and development programs to ensure employees are effectively onboarded and create / monitor / continuously improve programs to ensure employees have a path to develop in their respective disciplines and beyond.
  • Create and manage ongoing training programs to ensure that new and experienced leaders get the training they need to address ever-changing conditions in the labor market.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to provide feedback and support to the business on overall alignment.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills including G Suite (strong plus) and/or MS Office tools required
  • Service orientation, social perceptiveness, and ability to work with people at all management and executive levels
  • Moderate problem-solving skills and good judgment for when to escalate
  • Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years’ experience required
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
