Job Description

About Freebird:

We are a fun, passionate team tackling a $60B pain point in travel. Freebird’s founding principle is simple: GETTING THERE MATTERS. Whatever the reason for travel, it’s critical travelers reach their destination. Unfortunately, flight disruptions can wreak havoc on travel plans. We employ cutting-edge data science, machine-learning, deep domain expertise, and great mobile product design to delight our customers.

We’ve got a working product with real customers and big partners, and we’ve raised $8.5M from top-tier investors including General Catalyst and Accomplice. We are growing the team -- we need thought partners and smart leaders to help us improve travel for everyone. Come join us!

About the role:

We are looking for a VP Finance & Analytics to help spearhead business analytics, financial reporting, and related strategy functions. This executive-level position reports directly to our CEO and will be responsible for leading finance and supporting overall company strategy across the organization, including but not limited to collaborating with data science, sales ops, and operations, as well as developing OKRs, analyses, and internal/external presentations with our CEO. In short, this role will be a “second brain” to the CEO.

We’re excited for you to join us and tackle new and existing challenges as Freebird continues expanding in the travel space!

  • Manage and grow our finance & business analytics team

  • Lead internal analytics projects, including marketing/sales funnel analysis, customer segmentation, pricing models, market sizing, evaluation of new business opportunities, etc.

  • Support corporate finance activities, including the creation of Board materials and venture capital fundraising

  • Manage sales operations team (currently using Salesforce)

  • Work closely with data science team to produce actionable insights for executive team and inform strategy, business decisions, and reporting (currently using Looker)

  • You’re intellectually curious, a fast learner, and ready to roll up your sleeves to get “stuff” done

  • You communicate and influence effectively, including by presenting data in a compelling way

  • You have a highly developed analytical toolkit and are comfortable working with data

  • You possess excellent excel, powerpoint, and overall presentation skills

  • You conduct yourself professionally in meetings, but are easy-going and fun with colleagues

  • You are comfortable building financial models, forecasting cash flow, and managing financial statements autonomously without oversight

  • You have a successful track record of completing high-impact strategic (or special) projects autonomously without oversight

  • Previous professional experience working with Board materials, fundraising, and/or buy-side investing is a plus
