Mid/Senior System Administrator (linux)

Requirements:

  • BS in computer science or BE in CCE (or related fields)
  • 3+ years of experience as a System Engineer
  • Strong knowledge in Linux systems in a MUST
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Background experience in PCI-DSS is a plus
  • Ability to create and read bash scripts and php
  • Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other language is a plus
  • Knowledge of Devops tools such as Jenkins and Docker is a huge plus
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
  • Knowledge in monitoring systems and log collection, such as Icinga, Ossec and Graylog is a plus
  • Knowledge of security scanning tools and reports such as Nessus or Nexpose

Responsibilities:

  • Installing, configuring, testing & maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Project deployments
  • Maintaining backups (NAS, MySQL Files)
  • Checking system health and logs (Icinga monitoring system)
  • Handling user management and keeping track of user lists
  • Configuring data backup and recovery
  • Configuring IDS systems such as Ossec
  • Configuring log collection systems  Graylog
  • Configuring health checkup systems such as Icinga
  • Creating automation scripts
  • Creating Jenkins pipelines
  • Making sure PCI standards are kept on live environments
  • Reading security reports and handling security vulnerabilities
  • Configuring systems such as Apache, Wildfly and MySQL for both security and performance
  • Configuring Apache and Nginx as proxy systems, or to pass traffic through a proxy
  • Configuring firewalls such as OpnSense and Azure firewalls.
  • Configuring Wildfly and Tomcat and to deploy projects on them
