We're looking for an entrepreneurial General Manager with flower or operations experience. This leader will be responsible for overseeing our fast growing floral retail store and production facility in Detroit. Leading a team of 5+ designers, 5+ fulfillment, 10+ installers, 5+ delivery drivers and 3 retail staff. This position is based in Detroit working almost entirely onsite at our studio.
Help us continue to be the flower leader in Detroit while managing the fulfillment of thousands of deliveries a year and hundreds of weddings and events a year at the highest level possible!
Responsibilities:
Oversee all daily delivery, wedding & event fulfillment operations
Oversee Detroit retail experience and customer events, e.g. walk-ins, pick-ups, merchandise displays, workshops, etc.
Oversee production facilities, e.g. maintenance, security, construction, etc.
Liaise with senior leadership to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
Hiring and training new staff within Detroit operational departments
Plan, monitor and schedule the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress, including setting production schedules, allocating staff/resources, and coordinating logistics
Supervise staff from different departments and provide constructive feedback
Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements
Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocation
Oversee customer support processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction
Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
Manage budget for Detroit operations, seeking ways to reduce costs
Be a brand ambassador for Detroit location, e.g. social media, community events, etc.
Requirements and Skills:
5+ years experience in floral (or parallel industry, hospitality, etc.) or operations management
Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
Outstanding communication and people skills
Understanding of scheduling / managing personnel
Ability to use new technologies and platforms
In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g. supply chain, finance, customer service etc.)
