The Role:

We are seeking seeking a passionate Senior Java Back-End Engineer with experience building web services for high-volume, consumer-facing web sites and mobile applications. Working directly with the CTO and a core team of engineers, you'll be responsible for creating the systems that support our award-winning content platforms for kids and families.  

Desired Experience:

  • 6+ Years experience with Java back-end development in a production environment
  • Deep background in building services supporting large-scale consumer mobile and web clients
  • Experience working with nosql databases such as MongoDB
  • Tomcat, Redis, Jersey, Runscope (or similar) experience
  • Comfortable working in a production ops environment using AWS EC2, S3, CloudFront
  • Familiarity with microservices architectures a plus
  • Familiarity with front-end development using modern JS frameworks such as React a plus
  • iOS/Android Cross-Platform mobile development a plus
  • Ruby on Rails experience a plus
  • Localization/Internationalization experience
