Responsibilities/Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist with a passion for helping people while providing administrative support and guidance to company leadership.   This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and have excellent attention to detail, along with the ability to work independently with little or no supervision. The ideal candidate will enjoy the challenges of supporting a company of diverse people.

The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties in the following functional areas: recruiting, employee retention, employee relations, benefits administration, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, affirmative action, and employment law compliance.  

  • Recruit qualified applicants, conduct initial interviews, schedule interviews, conduct background checks, and process new hire paperwork all in accordance with company policies and procedures while ensuring legal compliance.
  • Employ effective employee retention strategies.
  • Create Job descriptions and manage job postings.
  • Provide support to management to resolve employee relations issues.
  • Assist employees with general HR inquiries as the first point of contact and provide exemplary customer service to our team.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain affirmative action program; file EEO-1 report annually; and maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Maintain employee handbook and HR related company Policies & Instructions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an institution regionally accredited by one of the following:
    • Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)
    • Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)
    • Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
    • New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE)
    • Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission of Colleges (SACSCOC),
    • Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College University Commission (WSCUC)
  • Minimum of 5 years of directly related HR experience in a professional environment.
  • Active SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification.
  • Experience in the use of social media, software, and HRIS platforms.

Bonus Points:

  • Prior military or DoD contracting experience a plus!!
